The Hunter 27 is intended to fill a very
important role as a keenly priced and capable weekend cruiser – a
segment that is not well serviced by many production boat builders. To
appeal to the widest possible market, the 27 will be offered in three
versions
- an entry level priced base boat
- fully equipped cruising version
- performance oriented racing version.
|
 |

The 27 has been conceived as a
"weekend" cruiser or racer. To this end, Hunter designed in some
special features. A fully removable insulated cooler provides cold storage in
the galley. The cooler is loaded at home, brought to the boat and placed in the
specially designed locker that slides into the galley and out of the way.

Similarly, the aft cabin features a "top
loading" hanging locker, complete with a removable liner, which provides
storage pockets for clothing; and dishware is also provided in a specially
designed, removable canvas storage system. After sailing, these items can be
removed and brought home, making clean up and preparation for the next trip
quick and easy.

The base version also includes:
-
wheel steering
-
manual pump fresh water system
-
portable toilet
-
12-volt electrical system
-
mainsail and roller-furling jib
-
freshwater cooled inboard diesel.
The cruising version adds:
-
shore power
-
pressurized hot and cold water
-
marine head and shower
-
electrically powered insulated cooler
-
choice of shallow or deep fin, or bilge
keels.
The race version will have:
-
tiller
-
a taller mast with more sail area
-
racing sails
-
deep draft keel.
-
The interior layout will be the same as the
cruising version, but built with weight saving materials and techniques
developed for the company’s offshore express cruiser, the HC50, to reduce
weight and improve sailing speed.
